Well Dave, was it a rogue? Or were several similar size Siluriformes secured as well?

One would only serve to wet my whistle but wouldn't quench my thirst...

Ended up with 4 blues total, the one pictured was the biggest. Other 3 were healthy eaters.
Gar bite got bad later, ended up catching one of them as well.
Worth getting out the house and spending a little time fishing .......atleast for me! lol

Yes sir... Looks like you got out before the heatwave hits... I was thinking with the milder weather the spawn might last longer.. Dunno if that's possible though. Moot point with the high 90's about to kick in....

Time for me to repair/replace/align my gear and get ready for another year of fishing. Been getting a bunch o' stuff from China on the cheap. Even broke down and got a set of fish grips for 9 bucks (4.xx each) and 2 dig scales for a whopping 5.48 total for both. Imagine me with fish grips and a scale- what's the world coming to... Found 300 meter spools of braid for 4.79 each, which I used when I went to Tenn and it appears to be just fine. Ordered some fur trapper t-bar rebar to make some rod-holders that will be easier to get outta the ground (due to the T handle). Still got your 1 dollar a piece 8 oz bank sinkers that I included with my sinker order. Lemme know when you need 'em,  And for anyone that's interested, Wally World has 7' - 3/8" inch Fitec cast nets for under 40 bucks right now and if you do ship-to-store there are no shipping charges. Seems like Academy's supply has really dwindled and cast net via mail order is gonna be the norm moving forward.

Why wait, that is a good question, and I can't think of a good reason.  But here is another song...

Hey Brad, it was a little overplayed in it's time but any song with someone gulping in the background or an imbecile droning, I've usually found to be pretty good, and that was damned catchy before it was overplayed. Here's some music Americana circa late 40's/early 50's that may run through my head while awaiting/hoping for Bertha-

Ah Dave, the most popular Aussie band of our time there huh. Here's another great Aussie band tune to consider while awaiting Bertha-

In a non musical post, yesterday it looked like Saturday morning and early afternoon was going to be lower wind and pre front fishing. Timing looked like rain and front moving through around 4 or 5pm. Was getting excited, now looks like front will move in early morning. Dang, can't win for losing! Sunday looks like a great people day, but I have had crappy luck fishing day after fronts! May be just in my mind or random luck...

Guess I should follow suit and add some mood music:

What's up guys I'm new to the forum although I have been keeping up with it for quiet a while now lol I'm loving all the valuable info you guys post! I am looking for a little help though, I have been out a couple nights a week for the past few weeks trying to find some of these cats and just can't seem to find them.. I have mainly fished around the rocks on 380 or around the power plant. does anyone have any suggestions? Doesn't have to be a secret spot or anything just looking for help on which bait has been working best, rather to fish somewhat shallow or deeper. Anything would be greatly appreciated!! I usually try and catch live shad to use as bait and at times it has worked alright. So again, any advise would be very well appreciated! Thanks guys

Cwiggins, this forum is a great place to research, you can look back through the posts from years past and see the patterns, seasons, and where to find the fish and what bait.  Keep on asking questions and don't stop believing!  That's critical.  Here is a song that might help us stay motivated.
