I'd love to take my kiddo fishing. We usually fish while camping at state parks. I'm not familiar with the lake other than driving over the bridge.  Where is a good place I can take an 11 year old on the lake where he can catch something (preferably crappie but if he catches a perch he'd be happy)?

How about are there areas that a mom and 11 year old shouldn't go?

You can fish right there on 380 bridges along the rocks between Princeton and Farmersville. Minnows or jigs for crappie sandbass and catfish. Hope this helps always good to get the young ones out enjoying nature

I agree, pretty touchy walking on rip rap rocks. Clear Lake is another park you might consider.

When in doubt, set the hook!

Look for city parks in the Plano/Allen area. The city stocks those ponds with small bass and sunfish. Bethany lakes park is nice
