I was at my secret bank spot on the lake and caught a few sandys on a spinner. I gutted them right on the bank and decided I wanted to catfish. I grabbed my other pole, attached a large hook and baited it with the guts from the cleaned sandys. No weight, just the weight of the bait on 6lb test. I threw it out while I continued to throw my small spinner for sandys. My cast made about 15 yards in about 8 feet of water. Within 5 minutes, my bait line started to run. I hooked up on a 7 lb cat!

Bait:
Something used to lure any wildlife resource. It is unlawful to use game fish or any part thereof as bait.

I don't mean to be flippant, but do a little research prior to posting tips.

Right, this would not be legal as far as I know. However you could use non game fish such as carp and buffalo.
