Anyone try fishing at the 78 spillway yet?  Can't see it from the road anymore.

Yea, I stopped by too and that's all I saw being caught.  Wonder if sandies and hybrids will work their way up from Hubbard?

They were catching some catfish Friday on bottom below the dam. Didn't see much else. I think
they would show up if the gates stay open for a week or more...Hopefully...

I went there saturday afternoon for 4 hours. The lay out is way different down there. But there are eight new bridge columns to fish . I saw a lot of drum caught at the rail road bridge where the water pools back on each side of the low water dam. I was fishing the new bridge columns and snagged 8 giant sand bass from 14 3/4 to 15  1/4 and they were all female and full of eggs. Also got one crappie., The fish are not up there thick yet. If they would open one more gate that would send them up. . I can't wait to get back out on the Lady avon now that we can launch --LOL-- Gotta find that big school of sand bass.

That's good news Keith.  What were you catching them on?  I have only seen drum being caught there thus far but nobody fishing those new columns.  Are you able to wade to them at all?

Dan i was using a 3 inch chart  curly tail grub on a 1/4 ounce jig head. Yes you can wade to approx 20 feet from the new columns  on each side. I caught on both east and west side of river Smiley

Well maybe 30 feet i wouldn't know any closer --LOL--
