I visited Tawakoni for the first time today.  Its currently approx 9.5 ft low so that made it a challenge.  I didn't know much about the lake which proved to be unwise given its current condition.  I was heading towards the main lake towards the dam.  I was cruising a long in 30 ft of water.  All of a sudden I was in 6 ft of water, then less.  I immediately went off throttle and went back and checked my depth finder as sometimes it flips up and will give odd reading.  It was positioned correctly, so i dropped the anchor.  Sure enough, i was in about 3 ft of water!  Luckily I was paying attention to my depth finder!  I was about a mile away from land in either direction.  I found out later i was in the area they call 3 humps.  I attached a pic of me standing in the middle of the lake.

By chance we were there the weekend a club of jetboats were there and having races.  I'd never seen a boat drag race live.  It was pretty fun!  Those suckers are LOUD! and FAST!  There were all different levels of boats from super fast to guys that just play around.  Below are links to vidoes that I took.  Not the best video quality, but you get the point.

Even had a helicopter out chasing boats taking pics.

We used to fish at Tawakoni all the time and the place you're describing was the place to fish for hybrids.  The water was a little deeper then, but the big hybrids loved the shelf around those humps!

That's what I've heard.  yeah, when the lake is up the top of those humps (or at least the one I found) would have been in about 15 ft of water.
