I've read reports of decent sized bluegills and red ears in Palestine, but no specific areas given...Anybody been there and fished for em in recent years? Thinking of going there this week and launching from the Hwy 155 bridge area.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,as I won't have a lot of time for scouting on this trip.

Sure do like that THUMP!

Sorry for the late reply... just read this.
I mainly fish for crappie, but...  icon_mrgreen

Saline Bay is right near 155 and there is a marina and cove in the very back so you have all depths and varieties of structure. There are also docks and BPs on the main cove and fingers.
You can stay in the area and be protected from the wind. There is also a boat ramp at the marina, which is very protected. Kinda tricky backing in, but a good ramp.
I went there for the TFF GTG with about 60 guys/gals and we had a good time. We were goofing off and shooting docks. Lots of fun small black crappie under those docks. A few keepers.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
