Decided to try a little different area than the spot we have been fishing lately but knew it was gonna be a long hike to get there so I figured I'd get up early and make the walk and see what the bite was like a couple hours before sunrise. Started the hike around 4am and got the first few rods out around 5:15 or so. Before I could get my third rod cast out I had a good run taking off. Ended up being a nice rip-lipped trot line surviving 44lbr for the first fish of the day. After that it became a challenge to get all 6-7 of my rods baited & cast out. The next few hours ended up being a fast and steady bite until mid-morning or so. Finished the day with a 44, 19, 25, 46, 21, 15, 13 and 5 eaters. The bite slowed way down around 11am so decided to start getting the gear together and make the walk back out around noon. Feeling exhausted now but was certainly worth getting out to the bank early this morning!
