Green Bay Giant!!!  (Read 2832 times)

Well, after pursuing my "white whale" for 21 years (or half of my life...) I finally found the monster I was after!!!  icon_biggrin  I had business in Wisconsin this past week, so I decided to take a little vacation time, wrapped around my meeting and lucked-out with the fish of a lifetime.  It was caught on Sunday, September 22nd.

If any of you find yourself in the Green Bay area, I highly recommend my buddy, Captain Kevin Stahl; as he has The Bay figured out, contact me and I'll get you in touch with him.

I still have that perma-grin on my face, even one week later...

By the way, the fish was 55-1/2" long x 24" girth.  The Muskie guys really don't weigh them unless it's up for world-record consideration, which this fish wasn't.  There's websites that will allow you to get a weight estimate based on the length/girth.  The most important part was getting the measurements and getting the fish back in the water to fight another day.  After talking to several people in the "know", I'm told that this very well may be the biggest Muskie caught in Wisconsin this year!

Yeah, buddy!  Anything over 50" is considered a monster.  I may never get mine now that I'm shark fishing.  icon_mrgreen

Was it worth all that TOW and waiting?

I'd include Northern Pike on that list as well. They're a little tougher to clean, but quite tasty when done right...
