A disappointing morning  (Read 2175 times)

I took my float tube, my 7', 3-wt fly rod armed with a black conehead woolly bugger and went to a lake near Sherman this morning hoping to catch a bunch of crappie. Unfortunately I could not keep these pesky bream off my line. The stringer contains 40 bluegill, redear, warmouth and green sunfish. I threw back another dozen or so that were too small as well as 10 bass up to 1#. Maybe next week I'll catch some crappie. Until then I'll just have to survive on bream.

Bluegill taste better than crappie to me only problem is you need a couple hundred to keep from starving

I soak the fillets in lemon and lime juice for a couple of hours, then drain the juice and add pico de gallo. Mmmmm good!!  icon_biggrin
