West Texas Buck  (Read 2837 times)

I shot this buck last sunday night. He was a 7 1/2 year old management 8 pt. He wasnt getting any better and needed to go. I shot this on a buddy's place in Slaton, TX. We share a lease in Dickens, TX, but he invited me over to this place to shoot a management buck. I was really happy to be able to take this guy. He came in about 20 minutes before dark, we watched him for about 10 minutes and then I was given the go-ahead to take him. I clicked my safety off of my remington 700 and put a perfect heart shot on him. He jumped out of the feeder fence and rolled a couple times upon landing. You could hear the bullet hit up the canyon wall. It was a really fun hunt and I've got some meat for the freezer!
