One to keep in mind for a kayak fishing backup rod... Zebco Slingshot Spinning Combo... It FLOATS! Lost a couple of rods while kayak fishing several seasons ago. Replaced them with the economical Zebco combo. Was tethering them to the kayak, then forgot one trip... went overboard, and low and behold... it floated handle up!

Was a windy Saturday at Lake Lavon but did manage to catch three Catfish for dinner using jug lines - commercially bought as well as DIY ones. Also, caught and released a Gar.  All went for fresh caught Shad caught with a cast net prior to launching.

We had some flagging jugs out overnight while we anchored off point trying to get a few sandbass and crappie (nearly a skunk, 6 and 4).  Pulled jugs early to beat heat.  CPR a 12 and kept a 9 lb blue.  Also kept an under 2 channel that swallowed circle hook.  Not quite what we expected after 3 days of south wind.
