I'm thinking about replacing one of my older spinning reels.

Any suggestions for a good spinning reel?

I fish from the bank, primarily for catfish.

This reel will go on a 10' Pro Angler pole.

Thank you Tex! Since your name is on the rod, I think it would be wise of me to take your suggestion!
I'll have to try to get in some overtime so I can get one of those reels.

If you are going to spend the money then just go with an Abu. http://amzn.to/1sAJhpj

Thanks!

i have a mitchell garcia 303 surf casting reel in the original box. This reel is sweet.
Reel is VERY strong and works flawlessly.
Mitchell Garcia parted ways around 1967. Reel is 50+ years old. All metal construction. pm me if interested

a 4 year old post resurrected... FYI... Those old Garcia-Mitchell's that end in odd numbers (like the 303) are right hand crank only... The ones that end  in even numbers (from that time period) like the Mitchell 300 is left hand crank only... (Because anyone that cranks with their right hand is an oddity)

You know your mitchell's Lou.
I also have a Dam Quik West Berlin from same era. Another large surf caster. This one is interchangeable left and right.
