Went chasing the sandies crappie carp and blue gills.... Gills were not on the menu, but i fell into them.

Got 37 blue gills in 20 mins. They didn't pull hard enough, so we went for Crappie and Sand Bass

1st trip limits, minus one fish. They were on top from 8-11 am. Little guy was catching doubles on one rod with two jigs.

Second trip we went for crappie and sandies. Got a dozen crappie real quick and then the sandies were busting in the distance so we went slabbing, and used  topwater. The birds were thick and I told Mike we r going to catch a bird today. We actually ended up getting a double gull hook up. We both reeled in our sea gulls and measured them but they were an inch short, so they went back into the drink/ air. Ended up getting a two man limit in 37 mins with fish pushing 15 inches. Most averaged 12- 13 ish. Topwater was a blast! Left them hitting the surface at 745 and went in....

Funny thing is I thought the gills were crappie on the side scan. They looked like popcorn on the side scan. Lol, I was a little disappointed cause I thought it was the mother load of crappie.

Those gills will put on a nice fight if you downsize your gear. That's some great combo fishing.

Those gills are encouraging to see because you don't hear much about good bream on this forum.   My wife and I love to get out catch em when their bedded up.  We moved from Louisiana last year so its been a while since i've gotten after them.

I guess you were on hubbard?
