I was down there for the first time in a couple of months.  I threw from the Marina and only mananged 5 cutters in about an hour.  There is a lot of little shad and I bet I caught 100 carp that were about 3 to 4 inches long.  Caught most of the bait for our Sunday trip around Clear Lake and the island.

Friday night was the same way. shad jumpin everywhere at the marina but they were small....not many cutters. Most cutters were caught out from the ramp towards the rip rap in deeper water. The wind was out of the north then too and sending waves right into that rip rap.

At what water temp do the shad start getting hard to catch in that cove?

There weren't many, but Friday and Saturday morning, besides the threadfin, I caught about a dozen 6 and 8 inch gizzards at the marina. Took a fair amount of throws to get 'em! Also got a big carp, about 3 pounds, plus 1 about the same size Bill Crowe caught on rod & reel and gave me.

I think it really depends on the water level.  With the lake low right now and only 6 foot under the boat slips, I don't know if the shad will stick around when water temps drop.  Last winter at normal pool, you could catch shad most of the winter.  It was hit or miss, but you could get enough to fish with most of the time.
