Fish were tailing in the shallows. So I pulled the fly rod out and put it 2 ft in front of her path.

End Result 13.86 lbs, 4 lb leader, 35 minute battle. When I thought she was done, she would peel another 30-40 yards off the reel....

Bass Pro Shop called me the other day. Unfortunatley, the Record Carp I caught a week or so ago had jumped out of the tank. So, they requested another one. They sent me a condolences package for the loss. Very nice of them. Hat & shirt (which I am wearing in the pic) lures, patches, etc...

truthfully, my forearm actually hurts today. A buddy wanted to go there this afternoon, but there is no way I want to stand there for another 30-45 minutes holding onto the rod with one of these guys again. I dialed them in now. I was throwing an assortment of flies at them and they would not take them. So I sat down yesterday afternoon and tied up a new fly, and this one rocks. Perfect for what I am doing. I also caught 4 kitties as well yesterday on the new fly. The kitties will eat anything I throw at them though, so in a way, they are kinda boring me a bit (but still fun on a fly rod.. The carp fight like a red fish, almost to a T! Fun times.....
