Ronnie,

We just recieved a new contract at GD and I have to get rid of all the remaining materials left from the last contract. I believe I can get you all the foam you need.

This is water jet cut bricks about 2"X3"x6" long, and 12" disk shaped x 2" thick. This is not your ordinary foam that you can break in half. It is a Dense light weight compressed foam.

I will find out tommorow or tuesday if I can scrap it out and let you have it it you want it

Is there a way to grind up the foam, like they do with attic insulation
and then mix the ground foam with the liquid foam, like they do when
they use liquid foam in the wall insulation in homes?

I'm guessing that could be done, but you'd have to be really FAST! That stuff starts reacting within seconds after you mix the two parts together.I'm planning on just layering the solid pieces & pouring the mix over each layer,a little at a time.

Our engineer friend is gonna do the welding with TIG machine. He uses a mixture of 2 gasses & a LOT of filler rods!...That third toon is still being argued...The engineer thinks it will create more drag across the water than what it would remove from the other floats.[Huh?] Wheather we add that or not,we still gonna have our rod box, live well, battery box,& gas tank  in the center space below the deck...just wont reach the water. We now have a 115 Merc motor to push us around,& not gonna use the 85 we aquired first.

Seriously consider hydraulic steering system,
Funny you should mention that...Our engineer has another engineer friend who has designed a jack plate device that has vertical lift, tilt & trim ,& STEERING all in one unit...Were trying to get a prototype for "field-testing" icon_cool

OK,New debate going on now...Is it better to have the motor mounted slightly forward into the deck ,where its weight is supported by the pontoons [old style],OR,like the newer ones that have the motor extended back behind the pontoons, with the motor's own little "boat" underneath to support it's weight? I would think the latter would help with getting the thing up on plane ...What can yall tell me about this?
