If anyone knows where the drainage pipe is that runs under HWY 78 between the 205 and the bridge over the creek (toward Wylie) there are a boat load of dying carp, white bass, and who knows what else in that culvert north of the HWY.  Have been seeing boils in the water as I drove by for about a week now, so I decided to drive back there and take a look.  There are literally hundreds of carp (maybe even a buffalo or two) in there sucking air off the top...some big ones too.  There were also some older dead HUGE shad on the bank.  I was too afraid to throw a cast net in there since you would probably spent half the day trying to get it in and clean it out.  Dont know how long they are going to last in there with the oxygen almost gone.

If I threw in the right spot,  I pulled three large carp out at lunch and put them on ice.

The shad are starting to show up at the ramps but always good to have a nice variety ,especially this time of year , and that carp is great bait. Thoose carp & buffalo will make better bait than compost for sure!  Save the shad and bait mor carp icon_lol

Anyone know if they are still there or have they died off?

Wednesday afternoon some were still alive.  I ruined one net completely and tore another.   Don't throw close to the culverts.   I caught 10 big gizzard out of there on Tuesday.

Cool Thanks... If you are coming from Lavon are y'all talking about the right side of the road right there by the RR tressel?

I saw a dead one on the bank and it was so big I was wondering for a second if it was even a shad.

Think that was a freak thing since the water got high around that time.
