We had 9 teams this morning leave out of West Bay Marina at Eagle Mountain. Weather was cool this morning with temps in the low 50’s but warmed up to the 60’s just before lunch. Winds started out light at 5mph but by 2 they were whipping out of SE 12mps with 19mph gusts. 8 of the 9 teams brought fish to the scale for an average weight of 34.36lbs per stringer.

1st Doka & Doka with 71.65lbs $456
2nd Evans & Evans with 66.45lbs pair of Doug “Tex” Elliot signature series rods from Pro Angler Tackle
3rd Rueda & Cook with 43.00lbs cast net from Moore Deep Nets
4th Stevens & Nix 23.60lbs 2 boxes of no roll sinkers Weights By Chase
5th Terry & Terry 21.50lbs hooks from Pro Angler Tackle
6th Moore & Burnett 21.40lbs assorted tackle from Team Catfish
7th McWilliams & McWilliams 13.80lbs hooks from Pro Angler Tackle
8th Clayton & Clause 13.45lbs North Texas Trophy Cats hats

Big fish 37.60lbs Doka & Doka

I would like to thank all of the anglers who came out fish today. Special thanks to our sponsors Pro Angler Tackle, Moore Deep Nets, Weights By Chase, Finny Tribe, and Team Catfish. I would also like to thanks my parents Betty Allison and Harold Allison for helping with today’s tournament.

Our next tournament will be on Lake Grapevine April 10.

sorry for taking so long to get the pictures up....

I decided to take the little one to the slips yesterday.  I fished for about 10 minutes while she ate her snack.  I managed 3 crappie on a jig.  I was ready for her to finish her snack so we could put a few minnow poles out for her.  Well reached down for the rope on the minnow bucket and felt like someone stabbed me in the back.  went to my knees and didn't  think I was ever going to get up.  called the wife and see came down and picked sydney up and I managed to slowly make it back to the car and then to the house.  Been in bed ever since....

Anyway...  Here is the Friday picture.  We thought we had it all figured out first thing.  First stop, 2nd fish in the first 10 minutes we were there...

39 pounder.  3 pounds off the lake record.  Left the spot and scouted the rest of the day.

Went back Saturday to the same spot.  Sat for 3 hours and only had two small fish to show for it.  Decided the shallows weren't going to do it, so we headed south to deeper water.   Last spot we drifted across had a lot of bait and a lot of active fish, but unfortunately they were all about the size of the bottom picture....

Had a good time, met some great folks from TTF.   Thanks to Brother Terry and the rest of the Eagle Mountain Maniacs for the company at dinner and a lot of laughs.

That bottom picture needs to go into a frame.     icon_lol

Sorry to hear about your back Mike.  Hope it is not a kidney stone.  Never had one but several people I know described what you just did and said it is the worst pain they have ever had.

It is just a bad back.  Happens from time to time.   I think the contributing factor was all the 10 inch channels that we reeled in Saturday.  They will wear you out in a hurry...  icon_biggrin

That's a bummer about your back Mike, hope it gets better soon.
If you and JJ wouldn't play so rough, fighting for first to the rod, neither one of you would have that problem icon_lol icon_lol
Or perhaps you two are just catching up with some us "older generation" folks icon_eek icon_cool icon_lol icon_mrgreen

But ya'll did alright for not having been on EM before, Congrats icon_exclaim
