all in all it was a fun project that I've been wanting to do, now I hope the heat does not burn or peel off the paint. I'm not too satisfied with my reeds but what can I expect for a first time? I think I may do my Beretta 390 next.

You openion, suggestions are appreciated.

Regards.

;-) thanks man, that's very kind of you. actually browning didn't charge you that much, if you send it out to get it done it's over $200.

now you know where to send it next time ;-)

good job on the rifle as well, did you seal it too or just left the spray paint as the last layer? how has it help up?

That's a really sharp looking shotgun, especially for your first time trying!

No I didnt seal it,  but I laid down good primer before hand,    Ive got a few scratches from briars and what not,  east texas woods are hard to get around in without some form of abuse,  but overall it has held up nicely..  I figure if it gets to bad, I can always touch up with more leaf shapes when needed for some extra character.

I did a buddies four wheeler the same way, and he sealed it with automotive clear coat,  and it still scratches the same..

of course, I only shoot my rifle once or twice and then put it up.. so im not sure about what the heat will do to it..
KG industries makes a "duracoat" that could be laid down as a base layer, or even top layer thats pretty good for that stuff..
You might check into spraying a matte topcoat with some flex agent, to kind of rubberize a clear matte topcoat finish... that might help keep things from burning or peeling..

I believe that KG also makes the BEST gun cleaners available to the public..  Copper solvent doesnt etch the metal, and wipes the face right off a penny..     Its all developed for military spec use,  so its tough stuff.
