Yep, caught a 14 inch crappie Saturday on a chunk of cut shad and a gamma 6/0 circle hook. 8 foot pole, abu 6000, 50 pound leader and 25# main line. Twas a royal battle it was with the fish gaining early on....but meself and the barely adequate equipment finally prevailed only after some serious fishing skill was utilized! icon_biggrin icon_razz Crazy fish only had one eye. Eye socket wuz completely empty!  icon_exclaim

Sheesh, I caught a sandie the other day that couldn't have run a pound on a 5/0 circle with 3 oz weight, and a small shad! Stupid fish swallowed it but it didn't even hook into him. I grabbed the tail of the shad with the needlenose and slid it right back out. Hook and shad were just kinda folded together. Tossed the lucky fish (still wigglin')  back into the drink.  icon_lol  Pretty strange! I didn't even know anything was on the line, I was just checking my bait when I pulled him in.  icon_lol don't know how it got it into it's mouth!
