Yea buffalo definitely took some drag a couple of times during the fight.  Definitely a different kind of fight from the LMB.

Didn't catch alot of fish but my brother in law got this nice one.  Weighed in at 4.44.  Did catch 2 Buffalo on crank baits which were fun to reel in.

I was out there on Saturday too and didn't have much luck.  Tried to hop around but the south wind was not fun so we ended up fishing the dam most of the day.  Wanted Bass but caught 3 catfish on crankbaits instead....

I've been looking at guides on Tawakoni for Striper myself.  Read something on TFF that made it sound like Texoma hasn't been easy for Striper fishing this year but I haven't fished for them in Texas so just based on others comments.  If you really want to catch some big ones head over to Ouachita in Arkansas that is where I've caught all of mine.

There are maps on my report page here. Of exactly where to look for them. We have limited every day the last two weeks. They've been Thicket glass house, Island point, hybrid point, and the southern power plant tip on the southside. We're catching them anywhere from 1 to 14 foot. Caught about 150 in less than two hours to days ago.

Sorry for the dumb question but where is your report page?  Is it the other thread in this forum or something else?

Damn all of those posts just got me excited about fishing this weekend!  I need to take a day off work soon so I can get out on the lake with you.  Will be in touch soon.

You can wade and get to several of the good areas. I can meet you there and show you the best spots to fish. I use a tube because 1) my knees are too bad to wade, and 2) I can get to more spots than the waders. Right now you don't need waders because the water is not cold enough for that, but you will need good wading boots.

Thanks I may take you up on that offer.  Not sure what wading boots are but have looked at full waders a few times but haven't pulled the trigger on them, I have rubber boots but don't think they would do well if filled with water.

Very nice, every time I see one of your posts I think about taking a trip up to the damn to look for stripers.  Can you get to good spots to fish from shore or do you need a kayak/tube to get to them?

Thank you Ranger Perrin for the update.  As a new north Texan who just started fishing on Lake Lavon it is very nice to see a Ranger on the lake coming here to share this information and to see that work is being done to improve parts of the lake.  Will try my best to do my part and keep lavon clean and safe.

I saw some guys cleaning fish at their truck in Collin Park marina a few weeks ago.  I didn't know that was a rule as I almost always catch and release but glad you posted and interested in the explanation.
